In expectation of the Democratic National Convention, FABO Café owners Amy Aussieker hopes to emanate a doll that looks similar to Jon Stewart. She's been stalking the TV headlines funnyman for 8 months. She has a Stewart tabernacle in FABO's lavatory called Jon's John. She's even combined a "Stalking Jon Stewart" campaign. Her mission? Get Stewart to advance in to FABO during the DNC.
Stalking Jon Stewart isn't Aussieker's usually preoccupation. She's all about her dolls. Not many coffee shops bring dolls, but Aussieker's does. She sells $10 customized Kamibashi dolls done of fibre - any with their own superpower. "Everyone who has seen them loves these small guys," she says.
According to the Kamibashi website , the String Doll Gang done its entrance in May 2005 with 16 members, and has rapidly stretched to more than 150. Each doll stands 2 to 3 inches high and is bending to a lobster talon key ring. Customers can personalize their dolls! by selecting law hair colors, wardrobe and accessories.
The 3 dolls featured on FABO Café's Facebook page are Riot Grrrl (amps your middle stone star), Lady Liberty (ensures you take a comfortable acquire anyplace you go), and Frida (empowers you to paint your own reality).
