Drivers on a Brooke County thoroughfare got an rotten surprise.
Officials say hundreds of nails fell on tools of Coss Road.
NEWS9 showed up as crews were cleaning it all up, fleeting a few dejected drivers on the way.
Down the thoroughfare lies a training desk pad owned by Chesapeake Energy. Officials from Chesapeake told NEWS9 they came opposite the nails and sent crews to washed them up. The crews mentioned it took them hours to casing the mile or so of road, picking up hundreds of nails with magnets.
It's misleading how many prosaic tires were caused a result, but residents say they are not happy.
As for how and when the nails got there, that as well is still unclear.
It was initial believed they might have been placed there purposely by residents to deter the training trucks, but neighbors discuss it me they do not regard that is the case. The! y believe the nails could have depressed off a fleeting truck.
Chesapeake mentioned they were not responsible.
