A new academy of cosmetology was welcomed Wednesday by the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce members, with a badge slicing ceremony/flower box welcome.
Essentials Academy of Cosmetology, 4302 Howard Bush Dr., Neosho (near La-Z-Boy Midwest), strictly non-stop in September 2011. The co-owners are Melissa Gibbens and Tracie Vaught.
"I sell actual estate here in Neosho for Charles Burt, but Tracie and we had a reception room together for 13 years," Gibbens said. "So we have been most appropriate friends and worked together all of these years. We motionless that we could do this and do a great work of what we know."
The academy offers direction in cosmetology spike technology (manicuring), esthetics (skin care), facials, haircuts and pedicures.
Currently, there are 10 people enrolled in the assorted programs, with two new ones forthcoming in esthetics in the next couple of weeks, Gibbens said.
